PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Port Charlotte man after he burglarized a home and fled after being startled by a 16-year-old boy in the home. Noah John Ledoux, 36, of 3476 Beacon Drive, was charged with Burglary, Loitering and Prowling, and Possession of Xanax.
Deputies responded at 11:04 a.m. Tuesday to a residential burglary call on the 3200 block of Depew Avenue in Port Charlotte. The teen said he was in the home, heard the doorbell ring, but ignored it. A few minutes later he saw a man looking into a refrigerator on the back screened lanai. The teen confronted the burglar who then fled the home and then got on a red mountain bike. The teen gave a detailed description of the burglar and the bicycle; a BOLO was issued.
At 11:18 a.m., a detective spotted the suspect by the front door of a residence on Newcun Avenue, who identified himself as Ledoux. The teen witness was transported to where Ledoux was being detained and positively identified Ledoux as the man on his lanai and the bicycle he rode off on.
Ledoux was also seen dropping seven Xanax pills on the ground prior to being taken into custody. Ledoux denied being on Depew Avenue and refused to talk. He was transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on $8,500 bond; this is his sixth booking.
