FORT MYERS, Fla.- Matthew Kolesar was arrested on Saturday after being accused of hitting another man with a golf club, causing it to break, and then attempting to stab the victim with the broken golf club.

Witnesses told officers 43-year-old Kolesar had been drinking all day at a residence on Hoople St. when an ex-boyfriend of one of the individuals arrived on the scene. Kolesar immediately went at the man with a closed fist. When the fight was broken up, Kolesar went to his vehicle to retrieve the golf club.

According to the Police Report, Kolesar hit the victim in the back of the neck, causing the club to break. He then attempted to stab the victim with the broken club, but was disarmed.

Jamie Varchminn-Berthold, 34, was also arrested for allegedly screaming obscenties at the officers as they were investigating the incident.
