On April 30, at 6:32 p.m., police responded to a robbery at the Pin Street Bowling Alley on Fowler Street. Upon arrival, police learned that three masked men armed with guns entered the business demanding money. They grabbed cash prizes meant for a bowling league that was taking place Monday evening. During the incident one of the suspects fired their weapon into the ceiling. No one was hurt.
The suspects fled in a vehicle. Witnesses followed them in an attempt to get the tag number. They ended up at the Palm Vista Apartments located at 3726 Central Avenue. The Good Samaritans blocked the suspects in the parking lot. The suspects then shot at the witnesses multiple times. Again, no one was hurt.
The suspects fled north in their car and then dumped the car at Hunter Terrace and Fowler Street. Police setup a perimeter using K-9 and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, but did not locate the suspects at that time. Police recovered items from the robbery, as well as the vehicle used in the crime.
