FORT MYERS, Fla.- Deputies are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint after kicking in the door to her home on Tuesday night.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office report, the victim was alone in her Pine Manor home when she heard a knock at the front door. She looked through the peep hole and saw an unfamiliar young woman who asked if someone named "Tina" lived at the home. The victim spoke to her through the door and told her that no one by that name lived there and asked her to leave.
A few moments later, the male suspect allegedly kicked in the front door and entered the residence holding a handgun. The victim immediately grabbed her purse and attempted to hide it behind her back, at which point the suspect pointed the gun at her and demanded she give him everything.
The victim repeatedly told the man to leave, but he pressed the gun to her face and grabbed the purse from behind her back. They wrestled with the purse until the victim finally let him have it and let go. Once the male gained control of the purse he ran out of the house through the front door.
The stolen property included cash, multiple bottles of medication, multiple unfilled prescriptions and various credit cards.
