FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - A southwest Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison killing a man and setting fire to his home.
A Lee County judge sentenced 39-year-old Brian Casey on Wednesday. He was convicted earlier this month of second-degree murder and first-degree arson.
Authorities say Casey fatally shot Ryan Vanderson in 2010 and then set fire to the man's body and home.
The News-Press (http://newspr.es/JQUXIL ) reports that Casey is also accused of paying two men to kill childhood friend Larrick Sikes five days after the killing of Vanderson, but that is a case that will be tried separately.
