FORT MYERS, Fla.- A Naples man is facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon after allegedly bringing a loaded gun to the Fort Myers courthouse on Wednesday morning.
Brenton Mongan, 52, was stopped at court security when a handgun was seen in his brief case through the security x-ray machine. Mongan was escorted to the court security office, where further inspection revealed that the Beretta handgun was fully loaded.
Mongan told authorities that he forgot he had the gun, and revealed that his concealed weapons permit has been expired for more than six years.
