SOUTH GROVE CITY, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives arrested a South Grove City man Wednesday on drug charges and for manufacturing fake driver’s licenses. Cory Lee Marquette, 20, of 3353 Ginsing Lane was arrested.
A total of $4,623 in cash was seized along with 24 grams of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Narcotics detectives investigated a tip and a search warrant was obtained on Marquette’s home. The search warrant was served when Marquette answered the door. Detectives seized a metal grinder, a wooden box containing plastic baggies with marijuana, two Pyrex smoking bongs, two burnt marijuana cigarettes in the home, and located another smoking device in his Ford SUV along with drug paraphernalia.
During the search, detectives also found equipment to make fraudulent Florida drivers licenses. Economic Crimes Unit detectives responded and seized special paper, a computer template, along with a Hologram he purchased. ECU detectives said Marquette was making fake drivers licenses and selling them for $60 each to his friends and acquaintances so they could drink and get into bars as they were all under 21 years of age. In the home, they also found a full bottle of Vodka and two partial bottles of rum that belonged to Marquette who is under 21.
Marquette was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana Over 20 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (storage/contain), Possession of Paraphernalia (inhale), Possession of Alcohol by Person Under 21, and Making/Possession of Counterfeit Drivers Licenses. He was taken to the Charlotte County Jail and posted a $10,000 bond Thursday morning.
