LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Three additional women were arrested Wednesday after allegedly cashing counterfeit Lee County School District checks at several Walmart stores and The Check Cashing Stores in Lee County.
Diana Thar, 46, Roshonda Franklin, 20, and Ebony Powell, 23, were arrested Wednesday after an investigation dating back to April 23.
Tina Groff, 27, was also arrested on Tuesday for the same crime.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office was able to determine that Walmart and The Check Cashing Store had been victims of the crime and obtained surveillance videos of the suspects. The images were then compared to the identities of the suspects whose names appeared on the checks and the drivers license cards provided to the vendors. The suspects used their real identities in cashing the counterfeit checks, providing their Florida State drivers licenses to the establishments.
All three of the suspects were taken to the Lee County Jail without incident.
