CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Two North Fort Myers men are arrested, after one admits to stealing from at least 50 unlocked cars in Cape Coral in one night.
Dalton Mercado, 18, and Pedro Mercado, 46, were arrested early Monday morning, after they were found standing in a driveway on SE 13th Street in Cape Coral. Officers found large quantities of change, and a prescription pill bottle that was later traced to a break-in several blocks away.

Dalton Mercado faces charges of loitering and possesion of burglary tools. Pedro Mercado faces additional charges for trying run from officers while handcuffed. Police say he was caught after trying to swim across a canal.
