PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's detectives arrested Warren David Lee Thompson, 28, of 4718 North Fairway Drive, on charges for having sex with a 14-year-old runaway girl multiple times. This is Thompson’s 24th booking.

Last Sunday, CCSO was contacted by Punta Gorda Police that they had located a missing 14-year-old Port Charlotte girl in the City that the Sheriff’s Office had a BOLO out for. PGPD officers said the girl stated she had been having consensual sex with a man named “Dave.” The girl’s mother picked her up and took her to a Peace River Regional Medical Center for a medical examination but the girl refused consent to be examined. Her mother told CCSO detectives she wanted to pursue charges on her daughter’s behalf.

Monday, deputies went to an apartment building in the 23000 block of Seneca Avenue in Charlotte Harbor and talked to witnesses who said they saw Thompson and a young girl at the apartment building. Later, detectives met with the girl who said she met Thompson through a mutual friend and she has known him for about a month. She said they went to an abandoned apartment on Seneca Avenue and engaged in consensual sex. She also said they had sex at least 10 to 17 times in the past month. The last time they had sex she said was Monday under the Peace River Bridge in Charlotte Harbor. She also told detectives Thompson would get alcohol for them and they would smoke marijuana or use K-2.

Tuesday, detectives asked deputies to check under the bridge; Thompson was located there and was brought in for questioning. Probable cause existed that he did knowingly have sex with the runaway girl multiple times. He was transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on no bond on charges of two counts of Lewd Battery on a Person Under 16, plus Interfering with Custody of a Child, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Child.
