LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Angela Harrison, Brandon Harrison and Brandon's 17-year-old stepson on Friday for hosting an illegal "fight club" in their home on Hightower Ave. S. in Lehigh Acres.
LCSO said the fight was hosted last November and that no one was seriously injured.
Participants of the fighting event told deputies that the 17-year-old began recruiting students of East Lee County High School to engage in Mixed Martial Arts style fighting at his house two months prior to the event. Once at his home, participants would be paired with an opponent, put on padded gloves and engage in full contact fighting until one of the participants could not continue due to injury.
Videos posted to Facebook of the event showed juveniles and young adults engaging in full head contact fighting with multiple juveniles in the audience. The video showed Brandon in the background, watching the fight.
"I find it very disturbing that two parents would do this, have fights at their property, and they stand there and watch! They think it is okay. There is nothing okay about that," said Sgt. Stephanie Eller of the Lee Sheriff's office.
Angela, Brandon and his minor stepson were all arrested for sponsoring and promoting an unlicensed boxing match.
The adults face five years in prison, if convicted.
