SANFORD, Fla.- Authorities say an empty police cruiser was shot up on Tuesday morning, in the same area where Trayvon Martin was killed.
Police say the car, parked at an elementary school parking lot in Sanford, was shot several times.
The Sanford Police Department says they had parked it there as a deterrent to the tour buses, bringing throngs of protesters and then parking on the school property.
A special prosecutor is investigating the controversial shooting case and will determine whether criminal charges will be filed against George Zimmerman.
Zimmermans says he shot Martin in self defense.
