ENGLEWOOD EAST, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office arrested a 15-year-old Englewood boy for Burglary.
A witness reported he saw a young man looking in a front window in the 100 block of Antilla Drive in Englewood East, around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. He also reported he saw the boy going around the home, enters the screened lanai and then exited. The witness gave a description of the teen and the direction he was walking toward on Ingram Boulevard.
An off-duty deputy in the area located the juvenile and detained him until a detective arrived.
The detective said the boy was sweating, appeared to be nervous and changed his story about being at the home on Antilla Drive.
While speaking to the 15-year-old, a taxi cab approached and told the detectives the boy had called her for a ride.
Detectives talked with the home owner who was away at the time the juvenile was seen in and around his home. The owner said nothing appeared to be missing and believes the burglar was scared off by his two barking dogs inside.
After further questioning, the 15-year-old was arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Once booked, he was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice center in Fort Myers.
This is the boy’s 10th booking.
Detectives are continuing their investigation.
