FORT MYERS, Fla.- On Wednesday, the Fort Myers Police Department responded to the burglary of an apartment located at 5247 Red Cedar Drive.

Upon arrival police learned that the resident arrived home and startled the burglar, who was standing in his kitchen. The suspect fled the scene leaving behind a duffle bag of items he intended to steal.

Through further investigation, detectives developed 22-year-old Garrick Flannory as a possible suspect. Flannory was then positively identified by the resident, in addition DNA evidence was obtained from inside the apartment.

Police arrested Flannory for burglary and grand theft.
