PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit detectives made two arrests this morning following a SWAT raid on their Port Charlotte home. The SWAT team first entered the home at 7:10 a.m. at 1386 Kenmore Street. Jennifer Marie Keenan, 48, and Bernard L. Helmbright, 41, were both arrested.
Keenan was the only one at home when detectives executed a lawful search warrant; Helmbright was located a short time later and then arrested. Detectives seized Methadone polls, a pill bottle with white residue that tested positive for Cocaine, a glass smoking pipe with metal mesh that also tested positive for Cocaine.
Narcotics detectives made three drug buys from Helmbright when they purchased Crack Cocaine and Hydromorphone from Helmbright on Mar. 6, and Crack Cocaine on Mar. 5 and Mar. 7. Further investigation led to obtaining a search warrant for their home this morning.
Keenan was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methadone, and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. Helmbright was charged with three counts of Sale and Delivery of Crack Cocaine, three counts of Possession of Crack Cocaine, one count each of Sale and Delivery of Hydromorphone, Possession of Hydromorphone and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.
This is Helmbright’s 11th booking; he remains in the Charlotte County Jail on $31,000 bond.
Keenan remains in jail on $6,000 bond.
