NAPLES, Fla - Grocery and hardware stores across southwest Florida are stocked with all the essentials you will need just in case the storm knocks out power.

WINK News stopped by Lowes on Collier Blvd and US 41 East. They have everything from gas cans to flashlights, weather radios, generators and hurricane shutters.

Customer Daniel Carr says he stopped in Lowes to help a friend get hurricane shutters for her South Naples restaurant. "We came to look at the clear acrylic shutters she wants to put on her restaurant. We've been talking about it for months. It just happens to coincide with this early talk of a hurricane."

Generator sales are also increasing as Isaac nears Southwest Florida. Chip Dearman, assistant manager of the East Naples Lowes, says, a generator with a six gallon gas tank can power your home for 11 hours while a 6,000 watt generator will power your air conditioner, fridge, stove and nine 73 watt lightbulbs.

Dearman says they just received a large shipment of generators and will have plenty in stock for customers.

"As soon as Lowe's found out the storm might hit this area they immediately shipped us truck loads of generators that we're splitting with the store in North Naples. We should be in stock and ready to go for awhile," says Dearman.

First Pawn in Naples is also advertising they have generators available priced as low as $199.

Experts recommend you run your generator outside your home to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.

If the storm does come and knock out power, Lowes says they have a generator and will re-open their stores as soon as the storm passes.
