KEY LARGO — Key Largo Animal Shelter staff had a difficult time rescuing a black and white cat whose head was stuck in a jar, according to CBS Miami.

The cat was first seen on October 24, near the Tradewinds Apartments, but it eluded capture for over a week. It was finally rescued on Halloween.

"We were able to humanely remove the jar and medically treat him for dehydration and malnutrition," said Key Largo Animal Shelter Manager Marsha Garrettson. "The cat now sits on my lap and purrs. He has a good appetite and seems to be normal, despite his ordeal."
