FORT MYERS, FL- At least 350 thousand dollars worth of trucks and toilets torched at a Fort Myers Business.
Police say they were able to catch the man responsible as he ran from the scene. Police say this man set the equipment on fire and took off into a canal.
"I like to hear his motive, hopefully he'll give one up. That's what is driving me crazy."
A motive to what police say caused this man to ignite several of these Suncoast Portable Toilet company trucks on fire damaging seven of them as well as three portable toilets.
General manager Brian Bock says, "There's his diesal jug, right in the middle of the cab."
Police say late last night...they were patrolling this industrial area when they spotted 56 year old Kim Glenn's car parked at a nearby business.
They contacted his wife on the phone and that's when they heard several explosions.
Bock says, "Just madness. That trucks around 80 90 grand, that's 60 thousand, that's 60."
Police spotted Glenn rapidly walking away from the area.
Reporter Sarah Pusateri says, "The man then dove into a nearby canal, and started swimming away, when police sent in a K-9, he gave up."
Glenn was handcuffed. He told police he was just looking for a place to go fishing.
but didn't have a fishing license.
He was arrested.
"Today was going to be my easy day."
Now Bock says, he's scrambling to borrow trucks so that he can get back to work and he's puzzled over what he calls a random attack.
"I went through all my past employees records and I didn't see anything that looked familiar. He's just a total stranger."
Who apparently wanted to make an explosive statement.
"The crazy part is him getting caught, ya know? That's how you know he must be a little off."
Inside Glenn's car, police found google maps with Suncoast Portable Toilet Company listed as the destination.
Glenn's wife told police her husband had been acting strange lately.
