LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- The Harry Chapin Food Bank teamed up with the Minnesota Twins organization and WINK News Feeds Families to collect food donations at this year's Twins spring training games.

The food bank hoped to collect 10,000 lbs. of food through game-day donations.

Before game time Monday, it had not yet met its goal.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank is looking for non-perishable food donations, especially those that are nutritious for children.

Al Brislain, the director of the food bank, says the need for donations has grown 150% over the last several years.

He says the food bank feeds about 30,000 people each month.

The Twins take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:05 pm at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers.
