LEE COUNTY, FL - U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enfocement agents announce the end of a major operation that culminated in the arrests of nearly 700 individuals across the U.S.

Five that were taken into custody were from Lee and Hendry county. All were described by agents as hardcore gang members with affiliations to Mexican drug lords.

ICE agents say this has been one of the largest sweeps conducted between the federal agency and local law enforcement in agency's history.

Agents say many of those arrested are wanted on local and federal charges.
