NAPLES, Fla. - It's your money... and the Florida Department of Transportation is spending over $700,000 on a bridge in Naples.
The Mooringline Bridge connects Mooringline Drive and Gulf Shore Boulevard North. It sees about 8,100 vehicles pass by everyday.
It's not in desperate need of repair, but FDOT has $730,000 stimulus dollars to spend on a cement face lift. The bridge will be resurfaced, get a new barrier wall, and have work done on the posts.
The City of Naples is also chipping in another $40,000 to make cut outs in the new barrier wall for a more esthetic look.
Work is scheduled to start in the next week. Traffic will still be able to use the bridge during construction.
