COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Spending more money keeping kids in jail than funding their education. That's the message at the Milk Party Rally. Leaders say they are fearful about the future of if something doesn't change in Florida.
Hundreds gathered in Naples Wednesday to hear the message from the Children's Movement of Florida.
The non-partisan organization, which has been hitting the road in Florida, is passionate about children's healthcare and education in the state.
"Here's a state that knows how to build roads, it knows how to build prisons, it knows how to build bullet trains. I'm not against anything, but if we had our act together we'd make children a much higher priority," organizer leader David Lawrence Jr. Says.
The group points out it's not private versus public schools. It's a statewide problem and either way you're money is paying for it.
