CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Charlotte County Sheriff's Major Crimes detectives continue their investigation looking for two suspects involved in an armed home robbery invasion Tuesday night in the 1200 block of Pike Ave., Port Charlotte.
CCSO received a call at 9:25 p.m. reporting two men, one with a handgun, entered their home and demanded a small lockbox type safe in their bedroom. The victims, a 59 year old man and a 50 year old woman, said the one robber with the gun threatened to shoot them if they didn't get what they wanted. The two men got what they wanted and then fled out the front door.
Detectives said the victims reported the contents included some cash, miscellaneous jewelry and their prescription medications. When deputies arrived, a perimeter was set up and a K9 unit tracked the subjects until the track ended at a nearby street. The victims said both white men were thin build; one had a white bandana over his face and the other a black hooded sweat shirt.
