CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Charlotte County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit detective arrested the mother of two daughters, ages 2 and 4, that she brought to undercover Oxycotin drug deals. Arrested was Sherry Annette Goulding, 36, Punta Gorda.
Narcotics detectives conducted a reverse buy operation with Goulding for Oxycotin pills. She told undercover detectives to meet her at the Charlotte High School football game but detectives declined that location and met instead at the Health Department parking lot, 514 Grace St. nearby. Detectives said they approached Goulding in her Chrysler van, handed her two Oxycotin pills and she gave them $30. Once the deal was completed, Street Crimes Unit deputies moved in and upon seeing the emergency lights, she swallowed both pills. Fortunately in the reverse drug buy, detectives provided two placebo pills instead of the narcotics.
In Goulding’s van was her two daughters; the father was notified and the children were released to him. Goulding was then transported to the Charlotte County Jail. Narcotics detectives said Golding also was involved in two other undercover drug operations with the children present on Aug. 17 and Sep. 11. She was charged with three counts of felony Child Neglect, Sale and Delivery of Oxycotin, Destroying Evidence, and Attempt to Purchase Oxycotin Within 1,000 Feet of two schools, Charlotte High and Sallie Jones Elementary and Abundant Life Assembly of God Church. She remains in jail on no bond.
