NAPLES, Fla. - What's in a name? Apparently one city's reputation could be.
Naples City Council is considering the idea to change the city's name to "Naples on the Gulf."
Residents in the 14 square miles that make up the city limits have approached a council member about the change to set the city apart from Greater Naples. Some want the change because Naples is sometimes clumped in with Fort Myers when it comes to statistical data on crime and vacancy.
However, many we talked to worry the new name may confuse people.
City Council will conduct a workshop on the name change and it could be voted on by residents come January.
