NAPLES, Fla. - Students known for making music are now making some noise.
More than dozen turning out to protest outside Barron Collier High School in Naples Monday afternoon. The group is upset their band teacher was removed from the school a week before band camp starts.
Kelly Parker served as the school's band director for more than 20 years. She was re-assigned to Golden Terrace Elementary last month after what the school district says were several procedural issues at the school. Last year, Parker was suspended for three days without pay after leaving students on the field several minutes after a lightening strike alarm went off during practice.
Band students just wish the whole situation could have been handled better.
