ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Police say an Orlando man and his three sons are dead after their car was struck by an intoxicated driver who sped through a red light.
The St. Petersburg Police Department says 20-year-old Demetrius D. Jordan has been charged with four counts of manslaughter while driving under the influence.
Witnesses told investigators Jordan was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Impala at a high rate of speed early Sunday in St. Petersburg when he collided with a 2010 Ford Fusion.
The Ford was being driven by 51-year-old Elroy McConnell. McConnell's sons, ages 19 to 28, were also in the vehicle. All four were pronounced dead at the scene.
Jordan and a passenger in his vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
