CAPE CORAL, Fla -  One of the victims in a horrific boat crash in Cape Coral is dead.

The 35 year old was one of three men injured in this boat crash.

Eyewitnesses told us on May 8th the boat was speeding, turned fast, lost control and slammed into the seawall.

Baldner suffered severe head injuries in the crash.

After weeks in the intensive care unit at Lee Memorial, Baldner was moved to a Wisconsin hospital to be closer to his family.

Last week his condition worsened and he was placed in hospice care.

News of his death dominated his Facebook page as friends and family left heartfelt messages.

Baldner leaves behind his wife and four children.

Florida Fish and Wildlife is still investigating the crash.

They believed alcohol may have played a role.

Investigators were waiting to talk to Baldner to get more insight into what happened that night.

Investigators say Jason Williams was believed to be steering the boat when it crashed.
