NAPLES, Fla. - A Naples mother was arrested because of her son's 83 unexcused absences in 2009-2010.
Amy Pullella, was charged with contributing to the delinquincy of a minor.
Pullella says she's tried numerous avenues to get her defiant son help.
She's even tried going to the Collier County School Board for help, but claims "instead of helping they're prosecuting."
According to an arrest report, Pullella's 12 year old child had missed 69 days as of May 10, 2010 without a valid reason for absence.
Pullella, a single mother, says she's just looking for help getting her son help and discipline, "I don't want to relinquish custody of my son because he is my son but I'm not going to be selfish if it helps him I can't say no".
Representatives at the Collier County School Board could not be reached for comment on the situation.
