LEE COUNTY, Fla - Authorities have identified the worker who died in a construction accident this week as 50 year old John Robert Jans of Bokeelia.

Jans, who worked for Arnold Brothers lost his leg after it became caught in an augur on Wednesday. It is believed he was trying to knock something loose from the machine.

Workers were building a pool in San Carlos Park at the time of the accident.
