CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla - Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives this week arrested 60 year old Vickie Lynn Flood of Punta Gorda, on 10 felony charges concerning “Doctor Shopping” 37 times between three doctors.
On Apr. 1, Lee County Sheriff’s detectives notified CCSO detectives about Flood using three doctors to obtain prescription drugs for the same medical condition.
Flood was being prescribed pain prescriptions by three doctors who were not told by law that she was getting Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Xanax. The doctors were Dr. Kenneth Levy, Port Charlotte; Dr. Vladimir Dinolov, Port Charlotte, and Dr. Kenneth Berdick, Ft. Myers. All three doctors said they prescribed Flood with prescriptions for her medical condition and were never told she was seeing two other doctors.
Detectives records show Flood went to Dr. Levy for prescription medications twice; to Dr. Dinolov 12 times, and Dr. Berdick 13 times. The incidents occurred over a nine month period between June 2009 and February 2010. It should be noted the three doctors did nothing wrong in these cases; they were not told the truth by Flood when asked.
