Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four teens on felony charges following a weekend “egging” spree of homes and cars in the Englewood area.
CCSO received a call at 12:20 a.m. Sunday after a woman said she heard a “thud” on the side of her home in the 8300 block of Roosevelt St., south of Grove City. Her son went out to investigate, got into their van and followed a Dodge Intrepid; he got the description of the car and license tag. As he approached the car, he said he recognized three of four in the car. Deputies arrived and found eggs hit the home and car but were immediately washed off and there was no damage.
Deputies ran the tag and tracked down the teenaers. The four were brought in Sunday night and arrested.
Deputies in their investigation said the four teens went to WalMart in Englewood and bought several cases containing 180 eggs. Homes and cars hit were Roosevelt Street, Rotonda West, Rotonda Circle, Placida Road and Olde Englewood areas. All four were arrested and charged with felony Criminal Mischief over $1,000 and taken to the Charlotte County Jail.
