MATLACHA, Fla.-- Almost $400,000. That's about how much BP has paid out to local businesses who say the oil in the Gulf is impacting their way of life! If you think your business has suffered because of the oil spill, you could be entitled to a payment from BP, too.
On Tuesday, July 20, 2010, businesses are invited to attend a claim informational session at the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce. It's located at 3640 Pine Island Road in Matlacha, is free and goes from 10am to 1pm. A BP claims representative, along with a lawyer and CPA, both offering their services pro bono, will be on hand to help with the claims process or just answer your questions.
The Florida Department of Financial Services, along with the Pine Island Chamber teamed up to hold the event. For More Information on how to file a claim, click on this link.
