LEE COUNTY, Fla - The teen who had his hand bitten off by an alligator is talking to WINK News.
18-year-old Tim Delano says he thought it was a bad dream when the alligator attacked him Sunday night at the popular swimming spot, the Crystal.
Delano says he heard a chomp and a hissing sound when the gator attacked and pulled him under the water. Delano punched the gator and was able to free himself.
"I started screaming get out of the Crystal, call 911."
The gator took off Delano's left hand. Delano tells Wink News when he woke up the next day he kept breaking down. Delano says he'll never swim at the Crystal again and is warning others to stay out.
"I don't want to see this happen again," says Delano.
