LEE COUNTY, Fla - The Lee County Department of Transportation is facing job cuts. About 50 jobs out of 400 will be eliminated.
Some of those 50 positions are vacant, others are workers who will be laid off.
The jobs range from managers to road planners to toll takers on area bridges.
The cuts will save the county between four and five million dollars.
The county is trying to make up for a budget shortfall before balancing the budget October 1st.
