CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla - The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion in Charlotte Harbor.

A 54 year old woman called and said a man came into her apartment on Seneca Ave. through the back door and demanded money. When she told him she didn’t have any; the man cut her leg with a knife and fled out the same door after stealing her purse.

EMS transported the woman to Peace River Regional Medical Center.

Deputies immediately set up a perimeter along with a K9 unit and the aviation helicopter searching for the man. He was described as a white male with long brown hair, about 6-foot tall, medium build and in his 30’s. No other details are available.
