Fort Myers soldier dies in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Fort Myers Soldier dies in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense announced Tuesday the death of 40 year old Spc. Carlos J. Negron who died July 10 at Asadabad, Afghanistan.

Negron suffered wounds at Konar, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit with rifle and small arms fire.

He was assigned to 426th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
