JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A former Burger King employee in north
Florida, accused of putting prescription painkillers in two
sandwiches he made, was sentenced to five years in state prison.
Woody Bernard Duclos has pleaded guilty to two charges of
poisoning food with intent to kill or injure someone. Court records
show he was sentenced last week.
Duclos was arrested after two customers at the restaurant found
hydrocodone, a painkiller, in their food. Police learned both
sandwiches had been made by Duclos, who had been suspended for
misconduct.
Another Burger King employee Bryant Keith Jones was arrested on
charges of purchase or possession of controlled substance with
intent to sell and accessory after the fact.
Police say Duclos made the sandwiches, and Jones sold Duclos the
pills.
