MIAMI (AP) - The U.S. Coast Guard has sent home 15 Haitian
migrants found in a disabled go-fast boat off Florida's Atlantic
coast.
The Haitians were repatriated Tuesday to Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
The Coast Guard says their 24-foot boat was found early Thursday
about 15 miles off Cape Canaveral. Authorities say one Jamaican
national and a suspected smuggler were also on board.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials took custody of the
Jamaican and the suspect on Saturday. Authorities did not identify
either person.
The Haitians were given food, water and medical attention aboard
Coast Guard vessels.
