CAPE CORAL, Fla - The City of Cape Coral is shutting down a water service line to repair a break on Hancock Creek Boulevard south from Pine Island Road and south to Pondella Road. The water is anticipated to be off for about four hours and will interrupt water service to about 300 - 500 customers in the area.
Customers will be receiving precautionary boil water notices. Under a precautionary boil water notice, it is recommended that water be boiled for several minutes in advance of consumption or use.
Bring your water to a rolling boil for one minute to use water for:
Brushing your teeth
Washing your hands before eating
Washing dishes, cooking surfaces, raw foods, or rinsing food
Preparing other drinks like baby bottles, Kool-Aid, sun tea, ice tea, frozen juices etc.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the Lee County Health Department gives the "all clear" sign, which may be several days.
