Florida Power and Light is monitoring the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and says it is ready should any oil threaten the state's power plants.
A spokesman for the company says none of the plant are in any immediate danger.
The company is staying in touch with governmental agencies regarding the oil spill and its movement and has deployed booms outside its 4 coastal plants...including the FPL plant in Lee County.
The company regularly trains for incidents like environmental spills, because it relies heavily on the water surrounding its power facilities.
