FORT MYERS, Fla - Beginning Sunday, June 13th the westbound travel lanes on S.R. 82 will shift to the south from approximately Teter Road to Ortiz Avenue. Starting at 7 a.m. crews will begin re-striping the roadway. One eastbound travel lane through this area will be closed so that the re-striping can take place. This lane closure is expected to last until the entire area is re-striped. It will happen throughout the day and into Sunday night. Motorists may experience travel delays Sunday until crews complete the lane shift work.
There will be two travel lanes open in each direction after the traffic shift is completed. This traffic shift is expected to remain in place for approximately three months. Crews will be reconstructing the new westbound travel lanes of S.R. 82 as part of the City of Fort Myers’ S.R. 82 Widening Project.
Motorists are advised to USE CAUTION driving in this area.
