CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla - The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 1:09 p.m. this afternoon about two trucks and a car crashed on Kings Highway at Suncoast Blvd. by Visani Comedy Club/Restaurant that involved injuries. Deputies said an 8-year-old boy prevented a head- on crash when his mom had an apparent seizure. He unbuckled himself from the back seat, got up front and turned the steering wheel into a guard rail. Deputies said the car was headed northbound on Kings Hwy, and when the seizure occurred, the car traveled across the median and into the southbound lane. After the car hit the guard rail it was then hit by a truck but averted a head-on crash.

Charlotte County Fire and EMS arrived and reportedly transported two people to Peace River Regional Medical Center. One truck had a refrigerator on back and it broke apart on the highway and a CCSO Community Service Aide removed it. When they rolled one of the trucks back over, there was a small fire which was put out.
