Some of the best and brightest students in the country head to the nation's capitol today.  The Scripps National Spelling Bee is set to get underway and there are some students from SWFL to watch out for.

Fernanda Arnay is speller 39, she goes to Varsity Lakes Middle School in Lehigh Acres.  Fernanda is from Chile and speaks both Spanish and English.  She hopes to one day become an architect.

Jonathan Nativi is speller 40 from Seacrest Country Day School in Naples.  Jonathan loves the Florida Marlins and New York Yankees and hopes to be a professional ball player one day.

This year there are 273 spellers, the largest number in the history of the event.  Preliminaries get underway Thursday.
