Lee County Commissioners could decide today if they'll pursue a swim center.
They'll be asked to sign a letter of intent with the National Swim Center Corporation. It would designate the next 4 months for negotiations about a swim center at City of Palms Park.
Last month the Cape Coral City Council rejected that same project, after a marathon 10-hour meeting.
Today Commissioners are also expected to decide whether to put the issue of single-member voting districts on the ballot in November.
There's a public hearing at 5pm about the proposal. Right now voters in Lee County vote for all 5 commission seats, regardless of where they live. If the measure is approved, voters would choose only the representative in their district.
