Breaking News: Body Washes Ashore on Fort Myers Beach

Fort Myers Beach, Fla.- 8:30 a.m Update: A Lee County worker discovered the body on the beach near Lynn Hall Park.  He called deputies to the scene.  They suspect the body is that of a missing shrimper that has been missing since Monday night. 

The Lee County Sheriff's Office has not yet confirmed the man's identity.

LCSO believes the shrimp boat ran aground and the missing shrimper jumped overboard to swim to shore.

8 a.m. Update:  Lee County Deputies are on scene of a body that has washed ashore on Fort Myers Beach.

The body was discovered around 7 a.m. at Lynn Hall Park.

Deputies have not confirmed whether the body is that of a missing shrimp boater, last seen off the coast of Bowditch Pointe late Monday night.
