CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (AP) - Australian Brad Kennedy will take a three-shot lead into the final round of the New Zealand Open after his 4-under 68 in the third round Saturday maintained his bid for a start-to-finish win.
Kennedy had eight birdies and four bogeys on Saturday as he broke out of a three-way tie for the overnight lead. He had a 54-hole total of 9-under 207.
New Zealander Josh Geary shot 71 to be 6-under after three rounds. The other overnight leader, Australian veteran Craig Parry, had a 73 to fall back into a three-way tie for fourth.
Australia's Terry Pildarkis shot 69 to move into sole possession of third place at 5-under.
