HILVERSUM, Netherlands (AP) - Stephen Dodd of Wales took the lead at the KLM Open Friday, shooting 6 under for the first 13 holes of his second round to take him to 8 under for the tournament before fading light forced 78 players to abandon their rounds.
Shiv Kapur of India shot a 3-under 67 to take the clubhouse lead at 7 under.
U.S. Open winner Rory McIlroy surged into contention with a 5-under 65 in his second round.
After taking to the course early to complete his rain-affected level-par first round, McIlroy had a bogey five on the first hole of his second round before reeling off six birdies.
Defending champion Martin Kaymer of Germany was 6 over for the tournament with six holes to play Saturday and looked certain to miss the cut.
