TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - How much did Florida lose in sales tax and other revenue due to last year's Gulf of Mexico oil spill?

State economists will try to answer that question next Wednesday.

Florida then could seek reimbursement from BP, owner of the Deepwater Horizon well that spewed oil after an explosion.

The economists originally planned to discuss revenue losses this week but postponed their meeting for seven days.

BP figures show the British oil company already has paid $1.56 billion to state, federal and local government agencies in five states.

That includes $148.4 million paid to state and local governments in Florida.

Only $10.7 million of that figure is reimbursement for lost revenue, all paid to local governments.
