LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an education series designed to provide caregivers with the tools needed to take care of yourself while taking care of another. This class is made available through a grant from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and Senior Choices of Southwest Florida in collaboration with Lee Memorial Health System and the CARE Program.
This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.
Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Two experienced Class Leaders conduct the series (many are experienced caregivers themselves, who have successfully applied the techniques they teach). Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the “tools” you choose and put them into action for your life.
Classes will be held at Clare Bridge, 13565 American Colony Blvd., Fort Myers. Sessions are held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and begin on May 8. For more information or to register, please call 239-343-9221. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
